There are many reasons why a person may seek Holistic Skin Care treatment. Usually they have become conscious of the value of skin care treatments and feels it will be helpful in correcting his or her skin problems or maintaining a healthy complexion. They are fed up with the commercial products that are on the market today. (Have you ever try to read the ingredients in these products)? And

Often a client will feel that facial treatments will be beneficial in

Usually for best results a series of treatments are recommended. One treatment is usually not enough to get the results a person is looking for. It usually takes several
treatments to undo a condition that has taken months and sometimes years to acquire. With a series of treatments, more positive results can be achieved.

However it is easy for you to do yourself. It is very important for YOU to analysis your skin properly. You will only need a few moments to do this.
To Analysis your skin type follow these simple steps:
1. Cleanse the skin thoroughly.
2. Remove the cleanser and study your skin under a good light or a magnifying mirror. Study the skin of the entire face and neck. Look at the classification section below to determine your skin type.
3. Using the middle finger of both hands, take a small (about one inch) section of skin between the fingers and stretch it slightly to reveal the texture of the skin and size of the openings of the follicles. If possible use a magnifying mirror.
4. Determine your skin type from your analysis.
NOTE: If you think you detect any skin disorder lease see a reputable
dermatologist or professional. Estheticians are not physicians and DO NOT DIAGNOSE SKIN DISEASE and should never treat any skin condition that is outside the realm of cosmetology.
Classification of Skin Types:
1. NORMAL SKIN: Is usually in good condition and has a sufficient supply of sebum. (Sebum: the fatty or oily secretions of the sebaceous glands. Sebaceous gland: The oil glands of the skin.) Normal skin is usually free of blemishes but can benefit from maintenance treatments to keep it healthy and attractive.
2. DRY SKIN: Is usually lacking oil or moisture or both. Treatments can help to eliminate the drying conditions by stimulating the sebaceous glands to produce the natural oils and retain the moisture that is needed to keep the skin lubricated.
3. MATURE or AGING SKIN: Is usually loose, wrinkled, and/or lined. Treatments will help to slow down the aging process and help diminish surface lines.
4. OILY SKIN: Usually has an overly abundance of sebum, and it may or may not be blemished. (Sebum: the fatty or oily secretions of the sebaceous glands. Sebaceous gland: The oil glands of the skin.) Treatments will help to normalize the production of sebum and clear blemishes. If mild cases of blackheads, pimples and acne skin are not corrected, the condition can worsen. Treatments help to control blackheads, pimples, and acne by cleansing the impurities from
the follicles and helping to normalize the production of sebum.
5. COUPEROSE SKIN: Is identified by small broken capillaries beneath the surface. (Capillary Hair-like blood vessels which connect the arteries and veins). Treatments help to strengthen the walls of the capillaries and improve the health and appearance of the skin.
6. COMBINATION SKIN: Is usually identified by dry and oily areas, or it may have a combination of conditions. Treatments help to normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands and improve the health and appearance of the skin.
You of course know your skin better than anyone else but it is important to really examine your skin thoroughly so you can determine your correct skin type. So you will receive the correct products and proper treatments for your particular skin type.
*You should analyze your skin before each treatment to notice any improvements and areas that need extra attention. Also remember that a general condition can be different due to seasonal changes. It is important to keep personal records of the progress of all treatments that are given.
